Advanced Open Water Diver
If you’re ready to take your diving in Amed to the next level, the PADI Advanced Open Water Diver course is perfect for you.
Course Description
Over two exciting days, we’ll complete five dives—including the required Deep Dive (up to 30 meters) and Underwater Navigation, then three more dives that we’ll choose together based on your interests. Whenever possible, we finish at the famous USAT Liberty shipwreck, one of Amed’s most iconic dive sites, for an unforgettable highlight.
This course is a great way to gain confidence, try new skills, and explore Bali’s best dive sites under an experienced instructor's guidance. Whether it’s colourful reefs, drift dives, or wrecks, we will show you the hidden gems of Bali’s underwater world. Diving with Seek and Dive and our family-run shop means you’ll enjoy a personal, local experience, learning safely while having fun and seeing the ocean in a way only someone who’s called these waters home for over 15 years can show you.
(Private instruction is possible; please contact us for more information.)

What to Expect on your PADI Advanced Open Water Diver Course in Amed
If you’re joining us for a PADI Advanced Open Water Diver course in Amed, here’s what you can expect over two relaxed and exciting days of diving in Bali. We’ll complete five open water dives, spread comfortably over two days, focusing on gaining experience, building confidence, and enjoying some of Bali’s best dive sites without rushing.
Theory – PADI eLearning
Theory – PADI eLearning
Before arriving in Amed, you can choose to receive access to PADI eLearning, allowing you to complete the short theory sections for each adventure dive at your own pace. You can study at home on your phone or laptop, or—if you decide to join last minute—after diving while relaxing at the beach or back at your accommodation. I always recommend finishing the theory early so that once we meet, we can focus fully on diving and exploring Bali’s underwater world together.
Five Open Water Dives over Two Days
Five Open Water Dives over Two Days
During the course, we’ll complete five open water dives, with one day including two dives and the other day three dives, depending on conditions and your comfort level. The mandatory Deep Dive (up to 30 meters) and Underwater Navigation dive are always included, and the remaining dives are chosen together to match your interests. Whenever conditions allow, we always try to include the famous USAT Liberty shipwreck, one of Tulamben’s most iconic dive sites, as part of your Advanced course experience.
Between dives, we take our time—reviewing skills, relaxing, and enjoying the surroundings. After the dives, we’ll return to the dive centre, where you can shower and change before joining us for lunch in the dive centre. Afterwards, you can relax at Warung Mewali, our family’s beachside warung, enjoy a sweet dessert, or simply soak up the sun on the beach before heading back to your hotel.
